Jaipur

Udaipur

Ajmer-Pushkar
The present day significant pilgrimage center for Muslims and Hindus, this city dates back to the seventh century. Located in the south west of capital city Jaipur, Ajmer was founded by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan. A good number of devotees pay visit to the sacred Dargah Sharif-tomb of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, likewise venerated by the Muslims and the Hindus.
After covering a distance of 14 km from Ajmer you would reach Pushkar, another popular tourist destination. It is the only city all across the globe that houses the only Brahma Temple devoted to Lord Brahma – a Hindu deity figure. The colorful Pushkar Mela is also organized in this lively town of Pushkar with strong participation from travelers all across the world.
Jaiselmer
Renowned as the golden city, Jaiselmer is located 575 km west of the capital city Jaipur. The exquisite town of Jaiselmer rests on a ridge of yellowish sandstone and is topped by a fort that contains the palace and several metaphorical Jain temples. Delicately sculptured houses and temples attract the due attention of the visitors. Located in the heart of Thar Desert, Jaiselmer is named after its founder Rao Jaisal a Rajput Ruler.
The historical assets of the town depict the gallantry, romanticism and sophistication of theerstwhile rulers of the region. The prime attraction of Jaiselmer is the Jaiselmer fort, which was by the Bhati Rajput ruler Jaisal in 1156. Located atop Trikuta Hill, this fort has witnessed many battles. The focal attractions inside the fort are: Raj Mahal (Royal palace), Jain temples and the Laxminath temple.
The famous havelis of the region are Patwon-ki-Haveli, Salam Singh-ki-Haveli and Haveli Shreenath. The Jain temples reflect the verdant Jain culture. Lodarva, Amarsagar, Brahmsar and Pokharan are the major pilgrimage centers around Jaiselmer.
Bikaner
Bikaner, the former capital of the princely state of Bikaner, hangs on to the medieval splendor that encompasses the city's lifestyle. The city was founded by Rao Bika. The city is blessed with great cultural and traditional heritage. Bikaner is the center for Usta Art, a general term for the Manoti-Naqqashi by Usta family master artistans of Bikaner since time immemorial. Travelers find every feature of the state quite conspicuous.
