Day: 01 Chennai

On your arrival, eLand Holidays representative will transfer you to your pre booked hotel. Check in and get freshen up. Previously known as Madras, this metropolitan city is located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. It is categorized as one of the culturally aware cities of India. Being the prime center for Carnatic music, this city is host to large cultural events the most special being the annual Madras Music Season which is glorified by the presence of hundred of artists.
Marina beach, the longest beach in the Asiatic region attracts a lot of tourists towards itself. It is located on the eastern side adjoining the Bay of Bengal. Enjoy eating, shopping and have fun near this golden beach. Other famous beaches of Chennai are Covelong Beach and Elliot’s beach.
Come back to the hotel for overnight.

Day: 02 Cheerful Chennai Excursion

After morning breakfast, you will set out for a sightseeing excursion of this wonderful city. The tour will start from the Fort St. George, which is currently under the authority of the Tamil Nadu Government. Within the complex is a museum exhibiting many memories of the East India Company and the British period in India. From here, you will head towards Mylapore. This city was dominated by the Portuguese in the 16th century and houses the San Thome Church. Later you will get a chance to visit 13th century Kapaleeshwar Temple, devoted to Lord Shiva and is the biggest temple in Chennai.
Come back to the hotel for overnight.

Day: 03 From Chennai to Mahabalipuram

After early morning breakfast, you will drive towards your next destination Mahabalipuram situated 72 km from Chennai. On arrival check in into your pre booked hotel and relax for a while.
Mamallapuram or Mahabalipuram was built in the 7th century. It is a primeval Pallava harbor. Site of various antique sculptural marvels, this city was listed as the world heritage site and boasts some of the most awe inspiring rock cut art. In the afternoon visit the sea shore temple is a marvelous shrine that is an abode to two most revered figures, Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. "Arjuna's penance" measuring 27 meters by 9 meters here is the world's largest bas relief.
Overnight will be spent at the hotel.

Day: 04 A day long excursion in Mahabalipuram

After morning breakfast, proceed for sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram. Situated on rocky outcrop amidst the beach and a lagoon, it is famous for its scenic location and the series of majestic Rathas. The splendor of the place is majorly contributed by the huge casuarinas trees, the silver sandy seaside and the traditional handicrafts. Visitors get surprised and intoxicated with the sumptuousness.
Come back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day: 05 From Mahabalipuram to Thanjavur

After breakfast, drive towards Thanjuvar or Tanjore. Upon arrival you will check into your pre booked hotel. Erstwhile capital of the great Chola Dynasty, city of Tanjore is situated at the heart of the flourishing green paddy fields of the Cauvery Delta. Reflecting the splendor of Chola architecture are the magnificent temples dotted all across the town. Your excursion will start with trip to Brihadeeshwara Temple. Built by Raja Chola in the 10th century, it is considered to be the most artistic of Dravidian temples.
Relax at the hotel for the night.

Day: 06 Thanjavur to Swamimalai

On the morning of the sixth day you will drive towards Swamimalai. After tracing a distance of 36 Km from Thanjavur you will reach your destination.
Upon arrival, check in into Sterling Resort and relax for the day. Enjoy the facilities and spend overnight at the luxurious resort.

Day: 07-12: Ayurvedic healing at Swamimalai

Day: 13 Drive from Thanjavur to Trichy

Drive past a distance of 55 km from Thanjavur to reach your next destination of Trichy or Tiruchirappalli. Located on the seaside of the Cauvery River, Trichy is the fourth largest city of Tamil Nadu. Built around the rock fort, Trichy is a perfect fabric woven by the threads of tradition and modernity. Ruled by the powerful Cholas and later by the Pallavas, this place has a profound history reflected by its approx 3.800 million years old Rock Fort. Divided into three levels, this fort houses an ancient temple devoted to lord Ganesha and lord Shiva. Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Sri Jambukeshwara Temple, St' John's church etc. are the other popular highlights of the region.
Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day: 14 Drive to Madurai

After a delicious breakfast you will drive to Madurai which is 128 km away from Trichy. On arrival check in into your pre booked hotel. Popular as the temple town, Madurai is one of the oldest cities of Tamil Nadu. Situated on the banks of the river Vaigai, this city is a prime learning and pilgrimage center which records numerous footfall every year. The famous attraction of this temple town is Meenakshi temples. Situated in the heart of the old town, it is the perfect manifestation of the Dravidian architecture with gopurams (towers) covered down the length with a spectacular cornucopia of vibrant images of gods, goddesses, animals and mythological figures.
After sightseeing come back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day: 15 From Madurai to Rameshwaram and back to Madurai

Drive to the one of the most major pilgrimage center of south India – Rameshwaram. Regarded as the ‘Varanasi of the South’ it is situated on the Gulf of Mannar, at the tip of the Indian peninsula. Visitors have to bathe 22 times at the wells that fall on the way to the main temple. The energy is superb and captivating.
Drive back to Madurai for overnight stay at the hotel.

Day: 16 Madurai to Kovalam

On the morning of the sixteenth day you will drive to Kovalam. The proud owner of one of the most serene beaches of the country – The Kovalam Beach, this region is a treat for the ardent travelers. The major attraction of this seaside resort is its tri curve shaped beaches separated from one another by stone projections. Palm fringed beaches set in the backdrop of sharp rising headlands add colors t o the natural aura of the place.
Overnight will be spent at the hotel.

Day: 17 Back to Chennai

After a lovely morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport by our representative for flight to Chennai. On advent, check in into the hotel. Rest of the day will be free for leisure activities.

Day: 18 Departure from Chennai

The 17 days long exciting tour will reach its end in the wonderful city of Chennai. After morning breakfast you will be transferred to airport to catch for flight to onward destination.
