Buddhist Tour of Bangladesh

Day: 01 Arrive Dhaka

Arrive Dhaka. Receive from the Airport and transfer to Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day: 02 Dhaka City

Morning proceed to explore old part of the city. Visit the Sadarghat river port on river Buriganga, Ahsan Manzil museum- also known as the pink palace, drive through Dhaka university, Oxford of the east, visit Shahid Minar – a monument to commemorate the student activist killed during protest to make Bengali the National Language, Curzon Hall, Dhakeshwari temple-the national Hindu temple, Lalbagh Mughal fort and the icon of famous architect, Louis I. Kahn- the National Parliament. After lunch visit Kamlapur Dharmarazik Buddhist Vihara. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day: 03 Dhaka-Bogra

After breakfast drive to Bogra. En route enjoy the journey to cross through the worlds 11th longest Jamuna bridge. Reach bogra and transfer to the Hotel. After early lunch visit the archeological sites of Mahastangarh and the Citadel. There are several mounds like Govinda vita temple and the holy shrine of Muslim saint Mahishwer. Khudie Patar vita, Mankalir Kundur, Porshuram’s vedi , Jiyat kundu etc. the visitor of rich archeological museum and the Gokul Medh (2km far from the Sitadel) will be very much entertaining . Stay overnight at hotel.

Day: 04 Bogra-Paharpur-Dinajpur

After breakfast drive to Paharpur en route visit Basu Vihara via Jaipurhat (140km) and visit the impressive Paharpur monasteries and the spectacular Buddhist monuments. The historically Paharpur Vihara is the treasured heritage of the world which has got the huge monastery with 177 monastic cells including with courtyard. A site museum houses with the rich collections of recovered objects, black stone sculptures, images of gods and goddess of Hindu epics. Later drive to Dinajpur (120km) and after noon visit Kantaji temple 20km north of the Dinajpur . This Kantaji temple is the most ornate temple in the subcontinent. Stay overnight at the hotel in Dinajpur.

Day: 05 Dinajpur – Dhaka

After breakfast drive to Dhaka (6hrs journey) on way visit Tangail – famous for its handloom and Tangail Cotton Saree, with its intricate patterns. The handloom sarees with extra-weft buits, tiny repeated motifs, all over the ground of the Saree, works like embroidery on the loom, it is one of the must have for each Bengali. Arrive Dhaka and check in at the hotel. Evening free at your own for shopping. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day: 06 Dhaka - Mainamati-Chittagong

Morning drive to Chittagong – one of the most famous port towns of Bangladesh known for its fish export and ship breaking yard. Enroute visit Mainamati, home to the most Buddhist archaeological site in the region. Visit the Shaiban Vihara, consists of 115 cells, built around a spacious courtyard with a cruciform temple in the centre, facing its only gateway complex to the north, Kutila Mura – a complex of three statues, Charpatra Mura, Manimati Ranir Museum and Mayanamati war cemetery. Continue drive to Chittagong to arrive and check in at the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel in Chittagong.

Day: 07 Chittagong-Rangamati

Morning proceed for short city sightseeing covering International Eco park at Fay’s lake, Holly shrine of Baized Bustami (witness the mysterious Bustami turtle), Nandan Kanan Buddhist Temple where the hair relics of Lord Buddha is preserved and the rich Ethnological museum at Agrabad. Afternoon drive to Rangamati - the queen of the hills (2.5 hrs). Arrive and check in at the hotel. Later visit the Tribal Museum, Buddhist Temple at Rajban Vihara, Chakma’s Kings Palace, Tribal weaving factory and Hanging Bridge. Stay overnight at Rangamati.

Day: 08 Rangamati To Bandarban

Morning Cruise in the crystal clear water of Asia’s largest manmade Lake Kaptai. Visit the hill top tribal village at Suvolong where you can also visit attractive water spring and forested hills. Afternoon drive to Bandarban through the scenic road passing through the forested hills and tribal villages. Visit the tribal village of Murang tribes and take a deep look at their lifestyle by exploring interior tribal village on the hill slopes. Arrive Bandarban to check in at the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel in Bandarban.

Day: 09 Bandarban – Chittagong- Dhaka

Morning visit the most ornate Buddhist Golden Temple on the Zadi Hill top. Later drive to Chittagong airport for your flight to Dhaka. Arrive Dhaka, met by our executive and transfer to the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel in Dhaka.

Day: 10 Dhaka – onwards

Morning, in time, transfer to the Dhaka airport for onwards flight.
