Day: 01 Arrive Colombo

Arrive at Colombo Airport, collect your baggage and proceed to arrival lounge, our executive will be waiting to greet you, thereafter direct to transfer to Dambulla, located at the center of cultural and historical Sri Lanka. Enroute visit Dambulla Cave temples, also known as the Golden Cave Temple, these Buddhist rock cut temples dates back to first century BC and are famous for the beautiful Buddha sculptures believed to be added in 12th century and naturally painted ceilings. Continue your drive to Dambulla to arrive and check in at the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel in Sigiriya.

Day: 02 Sigiriya

After a leisurely breakfast, proceed to visit Sri Lanka’s most famous landmark, the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya. Built atop a 200mts high rock, the Palace and fortress was built as Capital of Sri Lanka during the rule of King Kasyapa in 05th Century. An architectural marvel, the frescoe painted Palace had a massive Lion crafted at the entrance, giving it the name Sigiriya. Half way the rock, there are few caves believed to be the residence of the Buddhist monks having beautiful paintings in natural colour, similar to the Ajanta Paintings in India. The Rock fortress in itself was surrounded by a watered moat all around.
Later visit Polonaruwa, the second capital of ancient Sri Lanka and one of the best preserved historical site in the Island Nation. Visit the Polonaruwa Vatadige, Lankatilaka Temple, Kiri Vihara, Gal Vihara and Lankatilake Temple. Return to Sigiriya for overnight stay. Stay overnight at Sigiriya.

Day: 03 Sigiriya – Kandy

After a leisurely breakfast, check out and proceed to the beautiful hill station of Kandy, a UNESCO world heritage site, was the last of capital of Ancient Sri Lankan Capital and one of the most sacred places for Buddhist followers of Lanka. Arrive and check in at the hotel. Later enjoy half day city tour of Kandy including a visit to a Gem Lapidary, Arts & Crafts Center and the Temple of Tooth Relic. Stay overnight at the hotel in Kandy.

Day: 04 Kandy – Colombo

After breakfast, check out and drive to Colombo. Enroute visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden, spread over 147 acres, it is famous for its collection of Orchids. Apart from it, it has more than 4000 species of plants including spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Continue your drive to Colombo, stopping once more at Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage – a heaven for young orphaned elephants, you have a chance to feed the elephants also witness them bathing in the nearby river. Arrive Colombo late in the afternoon and check in at the hotel. Later proceed for quick tour of Colombo and last minute shopping, including the visit to Pettah Bazaar for street shopping and Odels – the largest and most famous of Sri Lanka’s Mall. Stay overnight at Colombo.

Day: 05 Colombo – onwards

After breakfast, in time transfer to the airport for flight to onward destination.
